In a strategic move to fortify its leadership in networking, the University of Moratuwa's Center for IT Services (CITeS) has entered into partnerships with global vendors and training entities. The genesis of CITeS can be traced back to the 1990s when it was established to cater to the University's computer maintenance needs. Subsequently, in 2017, CITeS underwent a transformative evolution with the creation of the Training & Development Division, in alignment with the newly approved organizational structure by the Council.

At present, the Training and Development Division is actively engaged in delivering a spectrum of training programs. These encompass proprietary courses developed in-house, as well as internationally recognized programs such as the Cisco Networking Academy and AWS Academy training initiatives. This multifaceted approach underscores UoM's commitment to nurturing a technically adept and globally competitive cohort of professionals in the field of networking.
