Ms. Zainab Masood, Manager - Global Engagement, Office of International Affairs and Ms. Haneen Rafi, Deputy Manager, Office of Advancement, Lahore University of Management Sciences, Pakistan (LUMS) visited the University of Moratuwa (UoM) on 27th February 2023 and met with Prof. S.W.S.B. Dasanayaka, Dean of the Faculty of Business, Prof. W.D.G. Lanarolle, Director, International Relations and Ms. Y.S. Karunarathne, Assistant Registrar, External Affairs, Publicity and International Student Promotion Division.
The discussions were held on promoting academic collaborations in the areas of student exchange and staff exchange programmes, joint consultancy projects, joint research supervision and other possible collaborations between the Faculty of Business, UoM and the Suleman Dawood School of Business, LUMS.
Ms. Masood informed that Sri Lankan students can apply for Allama Iqbal Scholarships and obtain an opportunity to study at the LUMS. It is a scholarship offered by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan for Sri Lankan students under the Pak-Sri Lanka Higher Education Cooperation Program to pursue undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral degree programs in Engineering Sciences, Basic & Natural Sciences and Social Sciences. Apart from that LUMS also offers a number of financial support options for international students at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
A Memorandum of Understanding and an Agreement on a Student Exchange Program were signed between the UoM and LUMS on 24th August 2022.
