A delegation from Tianjin University, China, comprising three professors together with postgraduate and undergraduate students, visited the Department of Chemical & Process Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Moratuwa, on 25th August 2026.
The visit provided an opportunity for academics and students from both universities to exchange knowledge, research insights and ideas in areas of mutual interest, particularly environmental engineering, sustainable technologies, wastewater treatment, and resource recovery. The event was hosted at the University of Moratuwa by Waste to Value (Pvt) Ltd., Sri Lanka.
As part of the programme, technical and research sessions were conducted by academics from Tianjin University, the Department of Chemical & Process Engineering, and the Department of Civil Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Moratuwa. These sessions facilitated the sharing of expertise, ongoing research activities and perspectives on emerging developments in the relevant fields.
The programme concluded with a joint discussion on opportunities for future academic and institutional collaboration, providing a platform to explore potential avenues for research cooperation, knowledge exchange and other collaborative initiatives between the participating institutions.
