Student Awards and Recognition-Department of Computer Science and Engineering

Gold Medal donated by IBM Sri Lanka:

Awarded to the Computer Science and Engineering graduate who obtained the highest overall grade point average of 3.8 or above at the B.Sc. Engineering degree examinations. This award is given at the University General Convocation.

CINTEC Award:

This is awarded to the student who has earned the highest marks for the Final Year Project.

Virtusa Awards:

This is awarded to the student who has earned the highest marks for the semester 5 Software Engineering Project.

Manamperi Award - Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Science:

The best undergraduate research engineering project carried out at a faculty of engineering in a Sri Lankan University is awarded annually with this award. The students who have submitted their undergraduate engineering project to a Sri Lankan University within the academic year in consideration are eligible to apply for this award. A duly completed application along with a project report not exceeding 1500 words should be submitted to the SLAAS by the students themselves, in order to be considered for this award.

Migara Ranatunga Trust Award:

This is awarded by IESL to the best achievers of the semester 6 industrial training module at the Annual Sessions of IESL. The university training division forwards the results of the evaluations at the

end of the training module to the IESL. Few undergraduates would be fortunate to be recognized as high achievers in the industrial training module of the engineering undergraduate program by being

awarded with this.

Vidya Jyothi Professor Dayantha S Wijeyesekera Award:

This is awarded to the most outstanding student of the year at the University of Moratuwa – a student who has proven himself/herself as a versatile graduate with a GPA exceeding 3.7 (First Class

Honours) and who has also contributed to the university and the community with recognition as a leader.
