Building Performance and Occupent Comfort

bp

The building performance & occupant comfort team focuses on the functionality and comfort levels of buildings at the serviceability stage. Investigations on indoor & outdoor air quality is one of the main research areas of the group and air quality enhancement schemes are being developed. The team also explores mitigation techniques for urban heat island effect by introducing green infrastructure strategies. Majority of on-going studies particularly focus on thermal comfort systems in tropical climatic conditions. The other key research topics include ventilation systems, sick building syndrome, structural cooling, insulation systems, intrinsic properties of materials and indoor CO2 levels.
